چکیده
We report the observation of spontaneous and very sharp resistivity jumps at low temperatures in antiferromagnetic itinerant-electron system La0.825Ce0.175Fe12B6. This intermetallic compound undergoes multiple magnetic transformations, antiferromagnetic–ferromagnetic (AFM–FM) ferromagnetic–paramagnetic (FM–PM), triggered by changes both temperature applied field. The magnetoresistance isotherms display irreversible abrupt steps T ≤ 4 K, whereas field dependence becomes smooth above K. Meanwhile, evolution with time electrical exhibits a huge jump after an incubation when are constant. A giant negative (MR = −71%) is discovered associated magnetic-field-induced first-order AFM-FM transition.

Resistivity of axoplasm. II. Internal resistivity of giant axons of squid and Myxicola
The specific resistivity of the axoplasm of giant axons of squid and Myxicola was measured utilizing a single metal microelectrode subjected to alternating current in a circuit in which the voltage output varies with the conductivity of the thin layer of fluid at the exposed electrode tip. The average specific resistivity of stellar axons of Loligo pealei was 31 omegacm (1.55 times seawater [X ...
متن کاملSpontaneous thrombosis in giant intracranial aneurysms.
Twelve patients in a series of 22 with giant intracranial aneurysms demonstrated neuroradiological features of partial or total spontaneous intra-aneurysmal thrombosis. The presence of this intra-aneurysmal clot significantly altered the computed tomographic appearance of the giant aneurysm. Massive intra-aneurysmal thrombosis did not protect against subarachnoid haemorrhage and the likelihood ...
متن کاملInhibition of cooperative quantum jumps due to fast spontaneous decay
– A Quantum Monte Carlo wave function approach is used to rule out the possibility of cooperative effects in the quantum jump statistics of adjacent three-level ions of the type discussed in a series of experiments and theoretical investigations. By deriving analytical results and examining quantum jumps in various subspaces, we track this outcome to the fact that a fast spontaneous decay inhib...
متن کاملGiant magnetoresistance, three-dimensional Fermi surface and origin of resistivity plateau in YSb semimetal
Very strong magnetoresistance and a resistivity plateau impeding low temperature divergence due to insulating bulk are hallmarks of topological insulators and are also present in topological semimetals where the plateau is induced by magnetic field, when time-reversal symmetry (protecting surface states in topological insulators) is broken. Similar features were observed in a simple rock-salt-s...
متن کاملGiant spontaneous depolarizing potentials in the developing thalamic reticular nucleus.
The thalamic reticular nucleus (nRt) provides a major source of inhibition in the thalamo-cortical circuit and is critically involved in the generation of spindle oscillations. Here we describe the properties of thalamic giant depolarizing potentials (tGDPs) that were observed in nRt during early development. tGDPs persisted in presence of ionotropic glutamate antagonists but were completely ab...
